  • Neighborhood Halloween!

    Halloween Trick-or-Treating
    Friday, October 31, 2014 – 5:15 pm

    Put on your costumes and come out for some spooktacular fun with the neighborhood kids!Meet at the Holton Place Cul-de-sac at 5:15 pm and walk the neighborhood as a crew from there.

    If you can’t make it at 5:15, you can’t miss us, so catch up when you can.

    Grab your little ones, wagon/stroller and refreshments and stroll with your neighbors as we visit homes along the street.

    Question: How do we give out candy if we’re all in the trick or treat group? Last year, as we came to our homes, we’d open up the door and grab the bowl so that the group could make their stop at our house.
    Halloween Outdoor Movie Also, the Hawkins and Stanley-Olsons on Holton Place will be playing an outdoor movie right after Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night for anyone who would like to join.  There will be a big outdoor screen, cupcakes, popcorn and cider available.

    They will be playing a family-friendly movie in the front yard of 1586 Holton Place. There is plenty of room for blankets and camp chairs – so please those with you.

    Front Entrance Maintenance

    We will be asking that each Zone take a turn in “adopting” the front entrance for a month beginning in August for the rest of 2014. Zones will be asked to participate from August – September as your executive officers have agreed to adopt October, November and December. Please consider being a part of weeding and watering, particularly as temperatures heat up. (more…)

  • Community Garage Sale – May 18, 2013

    ImageDo you have an attic full of items you need to sell or dispose of? Then you will want to be a part of the Charlestowne Estates I Community Garage Sale on Saturday, May 18 starting at 7:30 am. The sales take place at your own house/garage/yard and the goal is to have several neighbors involved so interested buyers can go around the neighborhood for the deals! It is just like a normal garage sale at your house and you keep all the money you earn at the event.

    Participating residents are asked to provide a $10 donation to participate and will receive a balloon to notate your participation. Your house will also be listed on a map distributed at the event to notate participants. All funds donated will be used for neighborhood improvement projects. Charlestowne Estates 1 will place an ad in The Post and Courier and promote via Facebook, emails, Craiglist and other PR venues. The Neighborhood Association will also create signs for the entrance areas to promote the day of the event. 

    BONUS: The Association has coordinated for Goodwill Industries to do a pick-up at 12 Noon for any remaining items to donate!
